Acknowledgment of Background Check & Interview

I understand that Sheriff’s HEART volunteers work under the direction of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office and Animal Control staff and may be assigned a variety of duties, including field operations in difficult terrain or weather, emergency communications, disaster response, overnight deployments, and work in sensitive or controlled environments.

I understand that if selected to move forward, I may be required to undergo a confidential background investigation conducted by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, which may include a criminal history check, DMV record review, and Live Scan fingerprinting through the California Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

I acknowledge that honesty, integrity, sound judgment, and confidentiality are required, and that false statements or omissions at any stage of the application or background process may result in disqualification.

I confirm I am available for the required in-person interview on February 26 or February 27, 2026 (time to be determined) and agree to notify the Sheriff’s HEART Volunteer Coordinator as soon as possible if unforeseen circumstances prevent me from attending.
